Attorney ALEX NGUYEN, recently certified as an NFLPA agent in October, has joined Clermont, Fla.-based NIL and NFL agency McRae Sports Group as an agent and director of legal affairs. In addition to his new role, he continues to run Chavez & Nguyen, P.C., the Dallas firm he co-founded in 2015 with partner ANTONIO CHAVEZ. He will be based out of Dallas and report to McRae Sports Group founder and CEO BOBBY MCRAE (Irving Mejia-Hilario, SBJ).

Longtime MLB exec JIM SMALL wrote in an email that Friday is his “last day at MLB,” noting next up for him is to start a “small sports advisory business focused on mostly on Japan.” Small, who hold the title of WBC President, said he made the decision to retire “a few years back to ‘graduate’” after the 2026 World Baseball Classic, and “that time has come” (SBJ).

ESPN EVP & Executive Editor/Sports News and Entertainment DAVID ROBERTS will retire from his position at the end of August. Roberts joined ESPN in 2004 as a coordinating producer. Starting in 2018, Roberts served as VP/Production which included oversight of the ESPN Audio network. Prior to that, he served as GM of ESPN New York 98.7FM and was Senior Coordinating Producer/Studio Production for ESPNEWS (ESPN).

Army West Point Athletics named West Point Association of Graduates Dir/Finance KATY DEMARCO Senior Associate AD & CFO. DeMarco will begin the new role in mid-May (Army West Point Athletics).

Coastal Carolina named Associate AD/New and Creative Media JAKE JOHNSON Chief Creative Officer (D1 TICKER).

UMass promoted Assistant AD/Sport Administration ERICA LEMM to Associate AD/Sport Administration (D1 TICKER).
