The Trail Blazers have hired veteran broadcaster Kevin Calabro  as their new television play-by-play voice starting with the '16-17 season. A national search continues for a color analyst. Calabro spent 21 years as a TV and radio announcer for the SuperSonics until that franchise moved to Oklahoma City. He is currently a regular postseason national play-by-play announcer for ESPN Radio, Turner Broadcasting and NBA TV ( Trail Blazers ).

Mortenson Construction on Friday announced that the Vikings' U.S. Bank Stadium is "substantially complete," meaning the building can be used for its intended purposes and only minor work remains ( Mortenson ). The handover is a "formal step in the construction process that now allows the move-in process to begin." The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority "took over the building in a ceremonial handoff at its regularly scheduled meeting." The official "ribbon-cutting for the building is set for July 22" ( STARTRIBUNE.com, 6/17 ).
