The Pac-12 conference has announced that its football and basketball programs will begin using Kinexon contact tracing devices in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The partnership covers both men’s and women’s basketball.
Pac-12 athletes, coaches and other team personnel will be required to wear Kinexon’s SafeTag device during all team activities and games. The SafeTags measure the physical distance of users and how long their contact occurs, which is reviewed during contact tracing in the event of exposure to COVID-19.
School medical officials will be able to use Kinexon’s exposure management software to access the data. The Pac-12 joins the SEC , Bundesliga , and the NFL as leagues to deploy Kinexon’s contact tracing devices during the pandemic.
