Alvarez ends trilogy with Golovkin with win

Canelo Alvarez beat   Gennady Golovkin on Saturday by unanimous decision “before an announced crowd of 19,519” at T-Mobile Arena. Alvarez "ended the trilogy" of fights between the two "in dynamic fashion." Though the "scores suggest the fight was close," Alvarez "dominated" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 9/18). The third Alvarez-Golovkin bout "was not a good fight.” Fans got “more than [their] money’s worth" buying the 2017 and 2018 bouts, but "gave a lot of that back on Saturday.” The fight “wasn’t competitive," it had "little ebb and flow and there wasn’t a hint of drama” (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 9/18).
