The NHL has partnered with CLEAR to conduct health quizzes and temperature screenings at the league’s restart, which began this past weekend. Roughly 3,000 players, coaches, and staff will use CLEAR’s Health Pass app to verify their health status inside the NHL bubbles in Toronto and Edmonton.
Upon downloading Health Pass, users must take a selfie and upload a form of personal ID to verify their identity through CLEAR’s facial recognition. Before NHL personnel leave their hotel room each morning, they’re supposed to open the app and answer health-related questions.
The NHL recently announced that no one had tested positive out of 4,256 tests taken by more than 800 players from July 18 to 25.
