Riot Games announced that this year’s League of Legends World Championship will take place in Shanghai from Sept. 25 to Oct. 31. The annual tournament is normally held across multiple cities but will be held in one city this year to limit travel during the coronavirus pandemic.
Pudong Soccer Stadium, the new home of Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG, will host the World Championship Finals on Oct. 31. Riot has not yet announced which other Shanghai-based venues will host matches.
The video game publisher did not rule out the possibility of fans attending this year's World Championship, depending on government guidelines.
