A's see season attendance grow, but still last in MLB

The A's finished their 2023 home schedule yesterday, finishing the year with a season attendance of 832,342 -- which was "last in the major leagues but more than the 787,902 during last year’s 102-loss season." The A’s attendance of 13,102 yesterday "was bigger than their average crowd" of 10,240 coming in. The 55 home losses are the "most since the A’s came to Oakland" in 1968. A’s fans "chose to cheer" for the team as it left the field after the game, "displaying the same kind of positive vibe in the face of adversity that the players showed all season long." Fans "flooded the dugout area to say their goodbyes." The first "Sell the Team" chant came in the fifth inning, and the chant "broke out sporadically throughout the rest of the game" (San Jose MERCURY NEWS, 9/24).
