Washington Football Team Senior VP/Media Julie Donaldson talked about becoming the first full-time female NFL radio broadcaster, saying there is "so much exciting stuff going on" with the franchise. Donaldson: “I may be the first, but I'm certainly not going to be the last, so there's a lot of good things to be accomplished.”
Amid sexual harassment allegations around the franchise, Donaldson wants to “make sure that it was addressed and that going forward we could actually ensure change.” Donaldson: “We’ve had women's leadership boards. We started this in the very first week that I was on the job. Again, I’m only two weeks on, and last week we had our first meeting with all the women in the organization; 45 women joined. We call it the Women’s Initiative Now. ... You have to take action. Because I am sitting on the leadership board, because I do have this position, I have the authority to make changes ... and to ensure that going forward, it's safe” ( “Today,” NBC, 8/7).
