Racing "resumed" at Belmont today after Thursday’s card and training session were canceled "because of poor air quality." The New York Racing Association announced early in the morning that today's 11-race card, which includes five graded stakes, would go on as scheduled "following significant improvement in air quality conditions throughout New York State and in consultation with the New York State Gaming Commission." The move "should bode well" for Saturday’s 155th Belmont Stakes, with a post time of 7:02pm ET, to "proceed as scheduled." Training also resumed at Saratoga on Friday (NEWSDAY, 6/9).
