Sports data firm Sportradar has launched a new digital service aimed at helping organizations protect athletes from social media abuse.
Sportradar’s team of investigators will study the online activity of social media accounts attacking players online. The company will be able to track the location of the social media trolls and produce reports outlining users’ abusive behavior. Sportradar will then share this information with its partnered sports organization, which can choose to pursue further action to remove the abusive social media profile or alert law enforcement.
The product was already used by ATP and WTA players participating in the Exo-Tennis exhibition tournament held across Germany and the U.S. in May. Sportradar frequently partners with sports teams and leagues to deploy its Fraud Detection System that monitors global odds movements to potentially identify illegal betting activity.
