La Liga side Mallorca carrying out capital increase

La Liga side Mallorca is carrying out a new capital increase, as club shareholders this week approved "a new injection of resources," which will be realized through the release of 1.57 million shares at €3 ($3.20) apiece, with a release bonus of €6.37 ($6.79) per share, according to 2PLAYBOOK. The operation will result in a capital increase of €4.7M ($5M). The "term to acquire shares in a preferential manner will end on Jan. 30." Mallorca Owner Robert Sarver has “supported the club’s day-to-day in recent years,” contributing €9M ($9.6M) in 2021 in a capital increase that was meant to “ensure that relegation did not impact the calendar of paying off debt” and to allow the club to maintain funds to keep the roster competitive (2PLAYBOOK, 12/29).
