Social Media: NFL’s Brady departs

One of the NFL’s top media executives, Tom Brady, left the league last month after a 14-year run.

Brady was vice president of social media and emerging programming for the NFL, overseeing the league’s social media strategies. He reported to Mary Ann Turcke, the league’s president of digital media and NFL Network.

Brady, who was named to SportsBusiness Journal’s Forty Under 40 list in 2015, helped develop content strategies around the NFL’s over-the-top, digital, mobile and social platforms. He also was instrumental in launching the NFL’s fantasy and mobile businesses.

He joined the NFL in 2003 and worked in programming for the league. He moved to the digital side in 2007 and helped relaunch NFL.com and the 32 team sites.

We’ll be eager to see what his next move is in the business.
