Jocelyn Gates’ ties to college athletics run deep, as she started as a postgraduate intern with the NCAA’s department of diversity and inclusion and then took on a host of roles within the athletic departments at Duke University, the University of South Florida, Boston College and Ohio State. Now, she’s transitioning to a different part of the equation, entering the executive search space with TurnkeyZRG, where she’ll continue to work with coaches and administrators in a new capacity.

First job: My first job in college athletics was as a postgraduate intern at the NCAA for the department of diversity and inclusion. However, my first REAL job was as a paper girl delivering papers at 5 a.m. and taking pictures for Santa Claus at the mall in Wilmington, Del.
College education: Howard University, B.S. in biology (played soccer); Georgia Southern, master’s in kinesiology/sport psychology; Boston College, Ed.D in higher education (in progress; anticipated graduation date of May 2024)
