Sophie Goldschmidt led the organization’s launch of HERoic in 2022, with the initiative focused on empowering women in skiing and snowboarding. With an emphasis on increasing the number of women in coaching — in which only 1 in 4 are women — HERoic has seen a 20% increase in female coaches at the elite level. U.S. Ski and Snowboard, in which 67% of the executives are women, aims for the initiative to tailor a health and wellness program to female athletes’ physiology, as well as to help create fellowships for women in the industry. — R.A.
