Netflix founder REED HASTINGS has “stepped down” from his executive chairman role at the streaming service. He will now “serve as chairman of the board and in a non-executive director position.” The company called the move “part of the natural evolution of our leadership structure and succession planning” (VARIETY, 4/17).

Northwestern Athletics named SAVANNA WOOD Named Chief Communications & Branding Officer. She is the first to hold the position and will assume the role on April 29. Wood last served as Executive Associate AD/Brand & Marketing Strategy at the Univ. of Miami. Prior to that, she directed marketing, social and digital partnerships at Thrill One Sports and Entertainment. Wood also spent five seasons with the Jaguars, leading their digital and consumer marketing and overseeing digital platforms (Northwestern).

EA Sports named MIKE ARMSTRONG VP & Managing Dir/EA Sports Publishing. Armstrong most recently served as CMO at Serie A club Juventus. Throughout his career, Armstrong held various marketing positions with Google, Kraft, Anheuser Busch (EA Sports).
