Having more women in leadership positions is necessary if the sports industry is to continue to grow, said USTA Managing Dir of Pro Tennis Marketing & Entertainment Nicole Kankam, a member of this year’s class of SBJ Game Changers. “Having more women as decision makers, bringing those alternate points of view in the boardroom is really critical,” she said. “We’ve made some progress ... but obviously we have much more to do.” Kankam also talked about what she would tell her younger self before entering the industry: “Don’t be afraid.
