British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe is going to "commit $300M ... to Manchester United's aging infrastructure as part of a deal to acquire a 25% stake" in the club in a deal that will be "unveiled later this month." Sources said that the investment would be "staggered, with the bulk of it being handed to the club later this year." The funds will also be "financed by (Ratcliffe) personally and would not add" to the club's "existing borrowings." Ratcliffe's purchase of a 25% stake is "expected to be finalized within a fortnight," but negotiations between him and the Glazers are ongoing (SKY NEWS, 11/3 ).
