Jaylen Brown praises Iguodala's decision to step into NBPA interim role

Celtics F Jaylen Brown said that Andre Iguodala's decision to step in as the NBPA interim Exec Dir was “fantastic,” according to Gary Washburn of the BOSTON GLOBE. Brown, a member of the NBPA exec committee, said Iguodala is a player who has “set the tone for players who can be more than basketball players.” Brown added Iguodala “has a lot of respect from different guys throughout the league,” and him stepping into the interim role “sends a great message to our union.” Brown said the decision to “put the trust in another player to be in that position is just showing togetherness,” and that is “what we’ve been trying to build and establish for the most part since I’ve been there.” Brown said that there were “a lot of layers” to Tamika Tremaglio’s departure from the role, but the NBPA “respected her decision.” Brown said he thought the decision to put Iguodala in the position came down to the fact that the NBPA “want[s] to make sure everything is good for everybody” (BOSTON GLOBE, 12/16).
