The career of sports broadcaster Bob Costas will be featured tonight on the latest installment of MLB Network's "The Sounds of Baseball" series, which focuses on "legendary voices of the game." The episode about Costas, the 2018 Ford Frick Award winner, is set to make its debut at 8pm ET. Tom Verducci, who says Costas "was born to be a baseball broadcaster," will co-host the show with Matt Vasgersian. The documentary hits on Costas "not being afraid to discuss controversial topics" (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 2/8).
The episode will "look back at some of Costas' signature calls," such as "The Sandberg Game" in 1984, Derek Jeter's fan-aided home run in the 1996 ALCS and Costas' "memorable exchange with Tommy Lasorda " during the 1988 World Series (MLB.com, 2/6).
