Some Chiefs fans will “end up only being able to watch one preseason game” this year because tonight’s Chiefs-Bears game will be on KMCI (Ch. 38) in K.C. instead of KSHB (Ch. 41). The Democratic National Convention will be on KSHB instead of football. The game is airing on the NFL Network, but “blackout restrictions mean it won’t be shown in Kansas City.” For the Chiefs’ first preseason game at Jacksonville, KSHB was carrying the Summer Olympics in Paris, moving the broadcast to KMCI. That NFL Network feed also was blacked out in K.C. Youtube TV “does not carry Channel 38.” Fans acknowledged that there is “one option: use an antenna.” That would “allow a viewer to see all the local channels in Kansas City” (K.C. STAR, 8/21).
