The $108M makeover of Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is underway, and the work will be “done in time” for the Marlins and Cardinals to play spring-training games at the ballpark, according to Mike Diamond of the PALM BEACH POST. Instead of demolishing the two clubhouse buildings and building new ones, the plan now is to “renovate the existing buildings and erect one new structure.” Almost all of the work will be “done when teams are not playing.” The construction schedule also calls for small projects, like “press box improvements,” to continue into early 2025. Plans call for a new 3,000-square-foot gift shop and a “grab and go” concession stand. The ballpark will be adding Wi-Fi along with two new fan spaces will be created for socializing that will include “bars and shade canopies.” Michigan-based Barton Malow Builders has been hired as the construction manager. The state of Florida, Palm Beach County and the two MLB teams are all paying for the renovations (PALM BEACH POST, 11/29).
