Kraken co-owner David Bonderman, who co-founded private equity giant TPG Inc., died Wednesday at age 82. A cause of death "wasn’t cited." Bonderman, who had a net worth of $4.4B, led the founding ownership group of the Kraken, which joined the NHL in 2021. The following year, his daughter, Samantha Holloway, became a co-owner and succeeded him as chair of the franchise’s executive committee. Bonderman also was part of the ownership syndicate of the Celtics. As a venture investor, Bonderman and his firm "made early and successful bets" on companies like Airbnb Inc., Spotify Technology SA and Uber Technologies Inc (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 12/11).
