Wednesday night's game between the Pelicans and Bucks in New Orleans was "postponed" over "unsafe road conditions" following "record snowfall" that has impacted South Louisiana. The league has not announced when the game will be played. The Pelicans said that tickets for the originally scheduled game "will be honored" for the rescheduled matchup. The postponed matchup is the latest NBA game to be put on hold due to nature, following games in Los Angeles postponed for wildfires in the area and a game in Atlanta delayed due to icy conditions (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 1/22). New Orleans had a total of 10 inches of snow "fallen by 6:21 p.m. Tuesday," a figure that ties the record "set on Feb. 15, 1895, when 10 inches accumulated in Audobon Park due to a low-pressure system and rare frigid temperatures that created a winter storm, according to the National Weather Service" (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 1/21).
