Reds SS Elly De La Cruz, Orioles SS Gunnar Henderson and Pirates P Paul Skenes will all appear on the cover of "MLB The Show 25," marking the "first time in the video game series’ 28-year history that more than one player will grace the cover," according to Matt Weyrich of the BALTIMORE SUN. Henderson and Skenes "teased the announcement on Instagram on Monday afternoon," as they were "playfully questioning De La Cruz’s post saying he would be on the front." Henderson has become "one of the most recognizable players in MLB," with his selection for the cover being one of the latest examples (BALTIMORE SUN, 1/28). Henderson said that it was late in the 2024 season "when he was first contacted and asked whether he had interest in being on the cover." He said, "I was super pumped up. I mean it’s really cool being able to be on that because it’s definitely going to be something that I hold near and dear to me, because I pretty much played video games my whole life" (USA TODAY, 1/28).
