Media Notes

MLIVE.com’s Brandon Champion noted Fox college football analyst Brock Huard revealed this week that he is “leaving the network to help coach his son” as he goes through high school. Huard joined Fox from ESPN in 2019 and has been paired with broadcaster Jason Benetti, “typically calling one of the biggest games of the week.” Huard added that he thinks coaching “will make him a better broadcaster and radio host in the future because he will be increasing his football knowledge and gaining new perspective” (MLIVE.com, 4/8).

TURN THE TV ON: In Tampa, Marc Topkin noted the Rays and FanDuel Sports Network have arranged for 15 games to be simulcast over the air on Tampa Bay 44. The schedule includes mostly Friday games, starting this week, and one on a Wednesday. Tampa Bay 44 also will air FanDuel Sports Network’s pregame and postgame coverage on those dates (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 4/8).

HAWKS AF: In Atlanta, Lauren Williams noted the Hawks’ team podcast, “Hawks AF,” announced yesterday that its YouTube video series -- hosted by comedian D.C. Young Fly -- will “take the show to Shay Shay Media in a new partnership.” Williams wrote the partnership allows the Hawks to “increase the distribution of its podcast.” Since the Hawks launched the podcast in November, the show has “featured interviews with some of the city’s top athletes, entertainers, and music artists.” Shay Shay Media has “grown a community that has more than 10 million followers” and “generated more than 10 billion YouTube impressions last year” (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 4/8).
