People & Personalities: Gbajabiamila exits ‘Good Morning Football’

DEADLINES’s Armando Tinoco reported former NFLer Akbar Gbajabiamila “will not be returning” to NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” after one season. Gbajabiamila “had been missing” from the morning sports show, with his last appearance being on February 14. When the show returned on February 24, Gbajabiamila’s name “still appeared in the title sequence,” but a “rotation of guest co-hosts had filled his seat.” The show is “making some talent adjustments during this NFL off-season,” and the 2025-26 season roster “will be confirmed later this summer” (DEADLINE, 5/8).

JEKYLL AND HYDE: In Boston, Chad Finn wrote Basketball HOFer and TNT analyst Reggie Miller, who “was paired as usual with the always superb Kevin Harlan for Games 1 and 2 of the Celtics-Knicks series, is perplexing.” He is an “A+ talk show guest, especially during his regular appearances on ‘The Dan Patrick Show,’” but as an analyst, he “talks incessantly without a whole lot to say.” Finn: “I wish he’d limit his commentary to when he actually has something to say. I’d much rather hear Stan Van Gundy as the analyst on this series, even though he has his annoying quirks” (BOSTON GLOBE, 5/10).
