Colts warn season ticket holders against excessive re-selling

The Colts sent a letter to season-ticket holders who listed or resold tickets for most of the team’s games in 2024 with a “warning that putting too many tickets on the market again in 2025 could cost the fan their ability to renew their season tickets in 2026,” according to Joel Erickson of the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. No action will be “taken toward a fan’s 2025 tickets.” The policy is “not new,” as the Colts have “issued the letters for the past several seasons.” The Seahawks and Buccaneers “have similar policies.” For the Colts, the goal is to “make sure the team’s fans have access to reasonably priced tickets by preventing outside parties from buying up season tickets solely for the purpose of turning them on the secondary market at a much higher price.” The effects of the resale market “could be felt palpably in Indianapolis in 2024.” Fans of the Bears, Steelers, Lions and Bills “bought up large chunks of tickets on the resale market, making their presence felt in Lucas Oil Stadium in a big way” (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 5/19).
