DAZN and TNT Sports have “announced their U.S. broadcasting team” for the upcoming Club World Cup. Alex Scott, Lauren Jbara and Katie Witham “will be hosts in the studio,” with color commentators Brian Dunseth, Steve McManaman and Brad Guzan “joining play-by-play voices” Luke Wileman, Tony Husband, Andres Cantor and Kevin Egan. The studio analysts include former Colombia internationals Juan Pablo Angel and Melissa Ortiz, Nashville SC coach B.J. Callaghan, FC Cincinnati F Kei Kamara and England international Conor Coady. Their coverage “will include special guests throughout the tournament to add to the studio commentary and social content” from TNT Sports’ Bleacher Report, House of Highlights and B/R Football (THE ATHLETIC, 6/5).
Meanwhile, the Club World Cup Opening Ceremony “will feature multicultural Miami flair” preceding the June 14 opening match between Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami and Egyptian team Al Ahly at Hard Rock Stadium. Produced “in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio,” which worked on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and Miami-based producer Emilio Estefan, the ceremony “will include a musical performance by Miami-based Latin pop/EDM singer and dancer Vikina and Richaelio." Other performers in the show “will include Moroccan-American rapper French Montana and American rapper Swae Lee." There “will also be dancers, drummers, a choir and a tribute to the 32 participating teams” (MIAMI HERALD, 6/5).
