As Rockies VP/Corporate Partnerships Walker Monfort prepares to take over as the organization’s EVP, he is “ready to move on to an even bigger challenge,” helping the team “once again find” its winning ways, according to Kevin Henry of the DENVER GAZETTE. Monfort: “Everybody in this organization has one goal in mind, and it’s to win as many baseball games as we can on an annual basis and to be competitive year over year. But it’s also to make sure that we’re maintaining excellent customer service and a great ballpark experience.” Before Monfort could “fully turn his attention to his new duties,” the signing of Denver-based York Space Systems to a jersey patch sponsorship that will last through the 2030 season was the “last significant marketing deal” that he oversaw. He helped bring “all the details of the sponsorship to life.” Henry noted now, the first two major events where Monfort will “start putting his fingerprints on the direction of the franchise” are the MLB Draft (July 13-14) and the MLB trade deadline (July 31). How the Rockies “attack both July events could be different in years past as Monfort examines processes within the organization” (DENVER GAZETTE,7/1).
