The MLS Cup Final watch party at B.C. Place, the Vancouver Whitecaps’ home stadium, on Saturday between Inter Miami and the Whitecaps “may outdraw the crowd that will be watching the final in person in Florida.” The Whitecaps “are prepared to have as many as 25,000 or so,” the rough maximum capacity of B.C. Place’s lower bowl. Anything over 21,550 will be a bigger crowd than what will fit into Fort Lauderdale’s Chase Stadium, Inter Miami’s home for the last five years. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Whitecaps had “sold more than 16,000 tickets” to the watch party they are hosting at B.C. Place, where the “centre-field video board will be lowered to serve as the largest TV anyone in attendance will likely ever see” (Vancouver PROVINCE, 12/3). Tickets for the watch party “are $15, with proceeds going to the Whitecaps FC Foundation.” Doors will open at 10:30am PT and the “first 15,000 fans will receive a free T-shirt” (CP, 12/1).
