LA28 will not use dynamic pricing in the first ticket sales drop in 2026, but the organization has not yet released pricing plans past that point. An LA28 spokesperson noted that while it will not be in the initial phase, dynamic pricing will be put into play in subsequent drops leading up to the Games (LA28). In London, Martyn Ziegler noted LA28 organizers are “due to announce their ticketing plans early in the new year,” but the organization will “not allow tickets to be resold on its own platform for many times the purchase value.” Olympic organizers “plan to announce a fully transparent system around prices, categories and resale options.” A source said that it would be “different to FIFA’s in almost every respect.” FIFA has claimed that it has “little choice but to use” the dynamic pricing system “that is the ‘existing market practice’ in the United States.” It is “not clear” how LA28 “will deal with independent secondary ticket platforms reselling tickets” (London TIMES, 12/9).
