Texas A&M today announced a 10-year extension with athletics multimedia partner Learfield Sports, which has operated Texas A&M Sports Properties since '06. Under the new deal, which takes effect July 1, Learfield will reorganize and enlarge its College Station-based staff. Plans call for the group to work with Texas A&M to develop new ways to work with business partners. Final terms of the agreement will be announced upon completion of negotiations.
Meanwhile, Dartmouth College also is partnering with Learfield, outsourcing its sports multimedia rights for the first time. Per the multiyear deal, which is effective immediately, Learfield will hire a GM to oversee the new Big Green Sports Properties ( THE DAILY ).
