The Baseball HOF appointed longtime Angels VP/Communications Tim Mead as its next president, replacing Jeff Idelson , who left the Hall earlier this year. Mead has spent 40 years working in the Angels organization, the last 22 as VP/Communications ( THE DAILY ).
Mead's appointment is drawing praise on Twitter this afternoon. Baseball America's Tracy Ringolsby wrote Baseball HOF BOD Chair Jane Forbes Clark "hit a grand slam" with the hire. Former Padres writer Bill Center : "I can't think of a better pick." Forbes' Phil Rogers : "Tim has been devoted to the Angels and MLB since basically forever." USA Today's Bob Nightengale wrote it is a "fabulous" hire.
