Cincinnati will "no longer host NCAA men's basketball championship tournament games" in '22. The games will be moved to Indianapolis' Banker’s Life Fieldhouse instead of being played at Heritage Bank Center, a decision that "indicates long-talked about renovations to the 17,556 capacity riverfront venue aren't in the works." The city of Cincinnati won a bid in '17 to "host the NCAA tournament for the first time in 30 years." However, it would only happen if the owners of Heritage Bank Center and local officials could "figure out how to pay for upgrades" in excess of $200M ( CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 12/11 ).
