NWSL club Sky Blue FC today unveiled a "total brand transformation that includes a new name, new crest and new identity" as Gotham FC. The new identity was reached after "multiple surveys and focus groups with fans, and one-on-one conversations" with supporters and season-ticket holders. The process "ramped up in recent months," but talks of a rebrand "have been ongoing" since '19. Club investor and New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy "took on a more active role in leading the team and worked hand-in-hand" with team GM Alyse LaHue. The new logo "features the Statue of Liberty’s crown sitting atop the team’s crest, above a hybrid three-letter monogram -- an 'N' and a hybrid 'J/Y' -- in Sky Blue coloring (Bergen RECORD, 4/6).
