Longtime U.S. women's hockey player Meghan Duggan "has been hired" by the Devils as manager of player development within the club’s hockey operations department. Duggan retired in October and "plans to dedicate most of her time to her work with the Devils" in the newly created role. Duggan said she will have "touch points in a variety of different areas" and is going to "work closely" with Senior VP & Assistant GM Dan MacKinnon across all of the team's development operations, focusing on both on-ice and off-ice information (N.Y. POST, 5/19).
The latest NHL front-office move involving a prominent female exec follows the Maple Leafs' elevation of Hayley Wickenheiser and Danielle Goyette.
