Top exec Faries steps back from Call of Duty, OWL

Activision Blizzard Senior VP, Head of Leagues and GM of Call of Duty Johanna Faries is now almost exclusively focused on the development of the popular shooter franchise, and has stepped back from the day-to-day operations of Call of Duty League and Overwatch League. Ownership surrounding both the Call of Duty League and OWL have noticed a conspicuous absence during their monthly meetings with Activision Blizzard brass.

Faries, who was elevated to the position of Head of Leagues in October of '19, is the on-paper person in charge of both franchised esports leagues. Fairies was named GM of Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty franchise in April. Brandon Snow, who was named Head of Activision Blizzard Esports in July, is now in charge of both the Call of Duty League and OWL.
