Braves sign pair of college athletes to NIL deals

The Braves have "signed Georgia Tech football player Jordan Yates and University of Georgia gymnast Rachel Baumann to NIL contracts." Braves Senior Dir of Marketing & Innovation Greg Mize said that the two student-athletes will be "social media ambassadors or influencers" for the MLB club, which will "create content with them when they’re here at the game." He said that their compensation will "include a stipend of about $500 and a commission on Braves tickets sold through links placed on the athletes’ social-media accounts, plus VIP-type treatment at Braves games and team merchandise." The Braves plan to make "similar NIL arrangements in the future" with other college athletes (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 8/23).
