WME Sports issued a response to Excel Sports Management's statement issued earlier Friday, in which Excel had said that it would move the dispute between the agencies to MLBPA's arbitration system at the request of the union. “We’re happy that Excel has realized that this dispute belongs in MLBPA arbitration, and we’re confident that this process will reach an equitable result consistent with past practice in the industry," said a WME Sports spokesperson in a statement to SBJ. "We look forward to addressing Excel’s claims in the proper forum.”
