The Charlotte City Council is expected to vote tonight on whether or not they will "provide $65M towards Project Break Point," the development intending to construct a "massive tennis complex" in west Charlotte's river district. Developers Beemok Capitol had originally asked the city and county to "fund one-third of the $400M project." Beemok is projecting that the facility would "give Charlotte's economy a $300M boost and create thousands of new jobs." County and city leaders have placed the project on an "accelerated timeline" with the hopes of holding the first tournament in 2026 (WCNC, 6/12).
