ESPN has hired former NBA coach Paul Silas and player B.J. Armstrong as analysts for the upcoming season, according to Michael Hiestand of USA TODAY. The duo, which will replace Mark Jackson and George Karl, will appear on ESPN’s nightly NBA wrap-up show and on “SportsCenter.” Jackson moved on to become the Nets analyst on YES Network, and Karl is now coaching the Nuggets “after being the least-appealing ESPN studio analyst since Tim Hardaway” ( USA TODAY, 10/26 ). In Milwaukee, Bob Wolfley reports ESPN’s John Saunders and Dee Brown “will have expanded roles” on the net’s NBA coverage ( MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/26 ).
