The Indians "will not only be paying a majority of their full-time employees through May, but will actually pay them, as of now, through June 30," according to Matt Loede of SI.com. ESPN's Jeff Passan on Friday reported that the money to pay those full-time employees "will come from forty senior staff members who have agreed to take a pay cut" (SI.com, 4/25). In Cleveland, Paul Hoynes noted 42 higher-ups from the Indians organization "have taken pay cuts to ensure that the rest of the team's full-time employees would receive their full salaries" through June 30. Some part-time hourly employees and interns "were furloughed." Other full-time hourly employees "volunteered to be furloughed." They have the possibility of applying for unemployment (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 4/25).
