Japan’s Pro Baseball League Sets Opening Day for June 19

After a long suspension due to the coronavirus, Nippon Professional Baseball is planning to finally start its season next month, according to  The Japan Times . The league will start play without fans, copying baseball leagues in nearby Taiwan and South Korea, and will be cut down from a normal 143-game regular season to 120. The move follows a declaration by prime minister Shinzo Abe that the national emergency in Japan is now over.
