The National Women’s Soccer League has formed a partnership with iHeartMedia to provide free live audio coverage of two weekly league games for the 2021 season. This is the league’s first live audio streaming partnership.
A new NWSL radio station on the iHeartRadio website and app will provide play-by-play audio coverage for two prominent matchups every week, while also allowing replays until the next stream. The first stream will feature the NJ/NY Gotham FC and Houston Dash meeting on May 15, followed by the Orlando Pride and Washington Spirit contest the next day.
iHeartMedia has reached similar live sports audio partnerships in recent years, including carriage of Los Angeles Kings games and betting-themed broadcasts of XFL games in partnership with VSiN . The company is also a prolific podcast publisher and recently began collaborating with the NFL on a football podcast network .
