BBC's Simon Briggs reports tennis player Emma Raducanu has “withdrawn from the Mutua Madrid Open,” which will “probably take her out of the top 100 in the women's world rankings.” A “three-digit ranking” could “potentially affect her sponsorship deals too.” Many players have “ranking-linked clauses in their contracts,” although it is “unknown whether this applies to any of Raducanu’s eight endorsements” (BBC, 4/26).

OFF-THE-COURT UPGRADE: TENNIS reports Felix Auger-Aliassime's “off-court style is getting an upgrade” as the Canadian is joining Raducanu as a “face” of the French fashion house, Dior. Dior “isn't the only brand to join the Canadian's growing endorsement portfolio” this year. In January, Aliassime was “named an ambassador” for the French car brand Renault (TENNIS, 4/24).
