NBC Sports and American Century Investments signed a six-year extension to keep the American Century Championship running through 2029. That will mark the NBC-owned golf tournament’s 40th anniversary. This year’s event is scheduled for July 14-16 at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course and marks American Century Investments 25th year as title sponsor. This year, Peacock will carry Friday afternoon coverage of the tournament exclusively from 4-6pm ET. Golf Channel will carry a replay primetime (9:30-11:30pm). Over the weekend, NBC and Peacock will simulcast the event from 2:30-6pm. NBC launched the tournament in 1990 as replacement programming during the MLB strike of 1990.
