Patriots Fans Outnumber Redskins Fans At FedExField

At kickoff of yesterday's Patriots-Redskins game at FedExField, it appeared as if 80% in attendance "were supporting New England." Patriots coach Bill Belichick said, "There were so many Patriots fans there, it's surprising and overwhelming." While the Redskins have seen some "majority-opponent crowds," this was "one of the most lopsided groups." After Patriots WR Josh Gordon made a big play in the third quarter, the "Flash Gordon theme played on the loudspeakers." Gordon: "It felt like a home game" ( BOSTON GLOBE, 10/7 ). Visiting fans "have been heard loudly and clearly in Landover this season" ( WASHINGTON POST, 10/7 ). Pats fans had a "loud, consistent presence throughout" ( SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 10/6 ).

Meanwhile, the Bills faced the Titans with "25,000 of their fans" at Nissan Stadium. Bills fans made noise from the opening kickoff to their 14-7 victory and "it came off pretty clearly inside the stadium and on the CBS broadcast" ( Nashville TENNESSEAN, 10/7 ).
