Broncos SVP/Strategy Brittany Bowlen has "decided to step away from her position" with the organization, "given the team’s sale" to Walmart heir Rob Walton. Bowlen, the daughter of late Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, "informed Broncos staff at the team’s annual service awards" of her decision. She told employees that the "right thing to do for the organization and for her" was to "step down and clear the way for the new transition" (9NEWS.com, 7/28).
Brittany Bowlen in October 2018 "went public with her desire to be the Broncos’ next controlling owner, succeeding her father." She faced "immediate resistance from half-sisters Beth Bowlen Wallace and Amie Klemmer." There was "never going to be full sibling support for Bowlen’s candidacy and the Broncos were put up for sale in February" (DENVER POST, 7/29).
