Nevada only willing to give $195M for A's ballpark

The A's are "negotiating with Clark County to bridge" a $75M gap in public financing for a proposed $1.5B Las Vegas ballpark. State and county officials have "committed to" $320M of the team’s $395M request, and "the two sides are trying to work out their differences." Because of the ongoing negotiations, the A’s stadium funding bill is "now tracking to be introduced in Carson City next week." Under the A’s financing proposal, tax revenue for the project "would be generated by a special district encompassing the stadium." Various taxes generated within the district "would repay bonds issued to fund construction." The bonds "would be paid back over 30 years" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 5/18).
