Joby Branion
Founder, Owner and Chief Executive Officer
Vanguard Sports Group
Branion founded his NFL player representation firm in 2014 and directed its growth with both a diverse leadership and workforce. Vanguard’s executives include women in roles leading business development, operations and brand operations. The agency’s general counsel and litigation counsel are both ethnically diverse. While an undergrad at Duke University, Branion led efforts to increase minority enrollment through admissions as well as improve academic success and retention through alumni mentorship. When getting his J.D. and MBA at UCLA, he mentored at-risk youth, including helping one Hispanic teen from East Los Angeles get a college degree at Duke. He also served as one of only two men on the UCLA Women’s Law Journal.
